Celebrating seeds at Kew from 24 to 28 June
Join us for Community Open Week at Kew!
Free entry for community groups and individuals who face barriers to visiting.
Explore the Gardens and learn about our exciting science and conservation work through engaging, hands-on activities.
Connect with nature, enhance your wellbeing and learn more about seeds.
You will have the opportunity to meet Kew scientists and horticulturists, engage with artists and take part in a fantastic range of participatory workshops, talks and games suitable for all ages and abilities.
Programme
Wednesday 24 June
Learn about seed collecting, design your own seed packet, and participate in a variety of other fun activities.
Thursday 25 June
Join interactive sessions in the Gardens at your own pace on our designated Relaxed Day, including British Sign Language tours, sensory tours, and more.
Friday 26 June
Take part in a musical workshop inspired by seeds, learn about sustainable grassroots initiatives, and join in a range of other engaging activities.
Saturday 27 June - FULLY BOOKED
Plant your own sunflower seed, sing a seed-themed song, and enjoy crafts for families.
Sunday 28 June
Create your own mythical seed, learn about fungi spores, and join in celebrating our 2026 closing day!

Who can attend?
This event is open to all ages and abilities. It is for community groups and individuals who face barriers to visiting. It is open to community groups that are new to Kew Gardens, as well as our existing Community Access Scheme members.

We suggest a maximum group size of 20 people. Please note that all activities are subject to availability on the day. Large groups may not be able to participate in the same activity at the same time.
Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
The event is not aimed at school groups or Kew members.
Price
Entry to the Gardens and all Community Open Week activities are free of charge to participants. This will not affect your Community Access Scheme (CAS) ticket allocation if you are a Kew CAS member.

Please book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment as we have a limited capacity of tickets for each day.
The Relaxed Day (25 June) is designed for visitors who need a calmer environment and/or visitors who are planning to attend specific activities due to accessibility requirements.
Community Open Week activities are generally drop-in. Some activities on the Relaxed Day are bookable at our welcome tent on the day. You can find more details about these activities in the daily programme.
