Joe Wicks Festival at Kew| 7 July | 9.30am – 6pm
Experience the thrill of a brand-new wellbeing festival with Joe Wicks, also known as The Body Coach, coming to Kew Gardens this summer. Hosted by the much-loved fitness coach who won the hearts and minds of the nation with his daily PE workouts, Joe Wicks, in collaboration with Kew Gardens, will host the ultimate feel-good family festival - united for a day of fun, fitness, workshops, inspiring talks, great food and more. Pre-booking essential.
Wellbeing at Kew
Kew’s popular wellbeing events return this month, supporting both physical and mental wellbeing within the inspiring surroundings of Kew Gardens’ 320-acre UNESCO World Heritage site. All tickets include entry to Kew Gardens and a 20% discount in our restaurants.
Tai chi | 5, 12, 19 & 26 July | 9am – 10am | Berberis Dell & Mediterranean Garden
Boost your physical and mental wellbeing with the centuries-old Chinese martial art, ta chi, amidst the tranquil surroundings of Kew’s Mediterranean Garden. Six-week courses also available for beginners and intermediate participants.
Forest bathing | 6, 13, 19 & 27 July | 10.30am- 12.30pm | Arboretum
Inspired by the Japanese art of Shinrin-yoku, forest bathing is a sensory woodland walk alongside an expert guide, who will lead participants as they disconnect from the stresses of everyday life. Organised in partnership with the Forest Bathing Institute.
Sound baths in nature | 22 July | 4pm – 5pm | Nash Conservatory
Immerse yourself in the calming sounds of gongs, singing bowls and gentle percussion in a therapeutic sonic experience for relaxation and wellbeing. No previous experience is needed for this expert-led session, making it the perfect opportunity to try a new way of reaching deep meditation and relaxation.
Pilates | 22 July | 10am – 11am | Nash Conservatory
Tone your body in our historic 19th century Nash Conservatory with our special Pilates sessions. Find mindfulness through pairing breathing exercises with movement; our knowledgeable and friendly Pilates instructor will focus on improving your flexibility, strength, and posture.
Marc Quinn: Light into Life | until 29 September | Entry included in admission
Now open at Kew Gardens is a major new exhibition from contemporary artist Marc Quinn. Exploring the relationship between people and plants, Light into Life encompasses monumental sculptures across the Gardens, alongside a dedicated presentation of works in the Shirley Sherwood Gallery of Botanical Art. Offering moments of thoughtful reflection and interaction across Kew, Light into Life examines our complex relationship with the natural world and features a selection of brand-new artworks, unveiled for the first time this summer.

Learn skills to capture the moving body whilst drawing voguing dancers. Live dancers will perform new and old ways of voguing to music for this unique opportunity to capture explosive movements and experience the power of creativity.

Through this immersive drawing workshop focusing on observation and technique, discern body shapes in many forms. Learn techniques to emphasize drawing elements and encourage focused observation, before being able to apply your newfound skills drawing a selection of models posing in empowering stances .

Floral Fashion Life Drawing | 25 July | 7pm
Pulling out clothes from designers who were inspired by flowers in line with Kew Gardens, the focus of this session will be on texture, prints, silhouettes, and colours.

A multi-dimensional workshop integrating art, nature, fashion, and sustainability led by tutor Isher Dhiman, who has previously collaborated with London Fashion Week and London Craft Week.
Horticultural Highlights: Summer
Horticultural highlights on display at Kew Gardens across the month include the Great Broad Walk Borders, extended in 2023 to incorporate new, drought tolerant planting. Both the Evolution and Rose Gardens are now in full bloom, with colourful displays looking better than ever. Visitors can also marvel at the incredible displays in the Waterlily House, featuring Victoria boliviana, recognised in 2022 as the largest waterlily in the world.

Nestled in the heart of Kew Gardens, the Agave Bar offers a unique blend of artisan tequila and gourmet tacos inspired by the Gardens' botanical diversity. New Trails to enjoy at Kew Gardens
New for summer at Kew Gardens are a series of exciting, themed walking trails, drawing inspiration from different highlights of Kew’s UNESCO World Heritage Site. From art and architecture to remarkable trees, these six bespoke trails take in highlights across the Gardens, from remarkable glasshouses to hidden horticultural gems. Pick up a map on arrival or download your chosen trail in advance of your visit.

Passenger is a multi-award winning, platinum-selling singer-songwriter. Whilst still known for his busking, he made the journey from street corners to stadiums with 'Let Her Go', which reached No.1 in 19 countries.
12 July | JLS supported by Tinchy Strider
The Friday headliner is one of Britain’s most beloved boybands – JLS. They released their debut album in 2009 which has since sold over 1 million copies in the UK alone. They have also won two BRIT awards and five MOBO awards.
13 July | Beverley Knight supported by Asa and Marisha Wallace
Beverley Knight is no stranger to the spotlight and is a performer who can do it all – both a star of the West End stage and an astounding singer with a prolific music career. Beverley was awarded an MBE in 2007 and has won three MOBO Awards.
14 July | An evening with Richard Ashcroft supported by Jamie Webster and Callum Beattie
Richard Ashcroft is a two-time Ivor Novello winner (Songwriter of the Year in 1998 and Outstanding Contribution to British Music in 2019) who has released five Top 5 solo albums, including the #1 debut 'Alone With Everybody'.
Theatre on Kew
This summer, choose from two daytime productions – Kenneth Grahame’s classic The Wind in the Willows and magical The Dream Fairies - Adventure to Bubble Land – and a mischievous theatre under the stars production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, presented by the Australian Shakespeare Company. The Wind in the Willows is Kenneth Grahame’s classic story of life on the riverbank. This critically acclaimed, outdoor theatre production set against the magical backdrop of our stunning Lake, is packed with much-loved colourful characters, music, song and laughter.

In an enchanting world of song and dance, the adventurous Tinkerbell meets up with the fairies from A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Together, the cheeky Mustardseed, fluttery Moth, daring Cobweb and sweet Peaseblossom go on a magical quest with Tinkerbell.

Kew Publishing Book of the Month | Marc Quinn: Light into Life
This striking book accompanies the major exhibition Light into Life by leading contemporary artist Marc Quinn. Stunning photography showcases the stainless steel and bronze sculptures around the Gardens and in the Temperate House, alongside Quinn’s new and existing paintings, drawings, sculptures and evocative frozen works in the Shirley Sherwood Gallery.

This summer, for one evening only, get on your bike and explore the whole of Kew Gardens. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy Kew’s most beautiful spots with friends and family as the sun begins to set. Make an evening of it and stop for a sundowner, enjoy your own picnic, drop in on our food pop-ups or enjoy a pizza at the Pavilion restaurant on route.

Horticultural Highlights
Meadows are the star of the season, with expanses of wildflowers in bloom across the landscape. The Walled Garden bursts into bold colour, transforming into a wonderful expression of the English Country Garden, whilst shady solace can be found in woodlands of the world.

Through the meadows at Wakehurst and four bespoke art installations, immerse yourself in a showcase of the diverse wildflowers, grasses and wildlife that form these precious ecosystems, and be inspired to join us in protecting this rare habitat for future generations. For the first time ever, step into South Park – the 40 acres of ancient parkland which borders our Asian Heath Garden, where wildflower species will bloom in the height of summer.

Sip botanical cocktails, tuck into delicious street food, and glimpse our Meadowland installations at dusk. Be mesmerised by our aerial artist, high in the tree canopies and dancers drifting across the Mansion Pond, along with fire performers, from blazing fire-poi tricks to classic fire eating. Tune into world music, from Latin-American summertime jazz to vibrant rhythmic beats, and let our roaming face artist add a touch of festival sparkle to your evening.
Nature Heroes: Flower Power | 20 July to 1 September | All day | £3 per child
Race, skip, and leap through the newly opened South Park meadow, to find the fantastic flowers that await you. Discover their superpowers as you learn about their roles in food, fragrance, pharmacy, and fashion.
Trees for Bees trail | All day | Free with entry
Visitors can take part in new citizen science study, as they help our pollination experts uncover which trees best support our pollinating insects. Pick up a free guide on arrival, and follow the trail, snapping images of the pollinators you spot.
Planet Wakehurst | All day | Free with entry
Experience the UK’s largest outdoor art installation, as the impressive Planet Wakehurst photomontage wraps the Mansion, which is undergoing restoration. The 1500m2 canvas, showcases the wealth of biodiversity at Wakehurst and will be up for all to enjoy. Experience a new view of the gardens on our Canopy Walk, 33ft up!
Wakehurst Workshops
Bat walks | 4 and 11 July | 8.30pm - 10.30pm | Members: £18, non-members: £20
This evening walk and talk will start with experienced surveyor, Tara Dawson, speaking about the different bat species that live in the gardens, their behaviours, habitat requirements and what Wakehurst has to offer them. Using electronic detectors, we will try to pick up the ultrasonic calls of hunting bats as we walk. You will also learn about other animal species, birds and insects that call Wakehurst home.
Meadow Bathing | 11, 15, 20 and 24 July | 10am to 1pm, 2pm to 5pm | £22.50 members, £25 non-members
Based on the Japanese art of Shinrin-yoku, this session allows you to slow down as you immerse yourself in our meadows. Meadows are an expressive landscape, characterful and cyclical. Swedish teacher and workshop leader Helena Skoog will show you how to use all your senses to connect with your surroundings, drawing on the power of nature to relieve tension, relax and nourish your sense of wellbeing.

Workshop leader Dominic Parrette, a Sussex-based basket maker and willow grower, will guide you through the willow weaving process to help you produce a stunning seed pod sculpture that will look great in your garden.
Reiki I | 20 July | 10am to 5pm | Members: £85.50, non-members: £95
Become a qualified practitioner in Reiki, a subtle energy complementary therapy. In this workshop, you will gain the skills and knowledge for self-treatment and full treatment of others, and learn about the chakras - the body's main subtle energy points.
The Wakehurst Willow Run 8K | 24 July | 7.15pm | Members: £15, non-members: £17
Enjoy the gardens at a faster pace with our evening run at Wakehurst. All participants will receive a number and medal on completion as well as water and fruit. Runners can bring along spectators for support and four 12-month Wakehurst memberships are up for grabs as prizes!

This exhibition brings Kew’s State of the World’s Plants reports to life, telling the story of why some plants are only surviving, while others are thriving. Through film, audio, models, and a futuristic garden, explore the challenges that plants face and discover the vital role of fungi.

Wakehurst, Kew’s wild botanic garden in Sussex is home to the Millennium Seed Bank and over 500 acres of the world’s plants including temperate woodlands, ornamental gardens and a nature reserve.
