Awaken your senses with spectacular blooms and uplifting music, set within the serenity of London’s largest UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This spring, immerse yourself in the splendour of nature at Sounds of Blossom. In collaboration with the Royal College of Music for the third consecutive year, seven new compositions have been created by talented music students. Inspired by the unique charm of Kew’s lush spring landscape and our world-renowned magnolia and cherry blossoms, these bespoke compositions will be played across the Gardens in our most enchanting blossom hotspots.

Delight in a multi-sensory experience as you wander through the trees. Admire the delicate pastel colours of the blossoms, inhale their sweet scents in the breeze and get lost in layered soundscapes. Celebrate the arrival of spring and take a moment to reconnect with the natural world — and yourself.

Throughout the festival, enjoy additional live weekend performances by an array of enchanting musical ensembles.

An outdoor escape for all, Sounds of Blossom is an uplifting opportunity to welcome spring and immerse yourself in the beauty and tranquillity of nature.

Blossom watch

Your weekly update on what’s blooming in the Gardens.

Cherry blossom around the Palm House remains a standout display. Many more of the older cherries situated between Cherry Walk and Pagoda Vista have fully flowered. These include several lovely pink-flowered ‘Matsumae’ cultivars, three Great White Cherries and the standout Prunus ‘Shirotae’, at the junction between Cherry Walk and Victoria Walk.

Along Ginkgo Lane, a beautiful array of flowering magnolia trees are nearing the end of full bloom. Vibrant, fresh green leaves are emerging which highlight the uplifting colours of the flowers still on the branches. Close to Elizabeth Gate, the magnolias situated here are the last to come into full bloom, including the ‘Rustica Rubra’ (Magnolia x soulangeana) spreading tree.
