You can purchase any ticket type at our Visitor Centre, but to reduce queues, we strongly encourage you to pre-book online before visiting Wakehurst.

Concession

You will need to present proof of either your (PIP) Personal Independence Payment, Disability Living Allowance, Housing Benefit, Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA), Child Tax Credits (CTC), Working Tax Credits (WTC), Income Support, or Application registration card (ARC) on arrival.

Car parking charges

Car park charges apply to National Trust members*

Wakehurst parking is free for:
    • Garden entry ticket holders (incl. all concessions)
    • Kew and Wakehurst members
    • Kew member guests

*Wakehurst is run by Kew. National Trust members enjoy free entry, but we don't receive funding for your visit.

By paying for parking, you have contributed to our vital scientific work, helping to protect nature, prevent biodiversity loss and build a better tomorrow. Every ticket and every car parked helps us protect endangered British habitats. Thank you.

Wakehurst membership starts from £3.33 per month (when paying £40 via annual direct debit) and directly supports our work.

Charges

Up to 45 minutes – FREE

45 minutes to 150 minutes (2.5 hours) - £8.00

Over 150 minutes - £13.50

We operate automated number plate recognition technology at Wakehurst. This will provide a seamless entry and exit to our car park for all our visitors. For more information on how we use your personal data when parking at Wakehurst, please visit our Wakehurst car parking privacy notice.

Before you come 

Please familiarise yourself with our Dos and Don'ts so that everyone can enjoy Wakehurst to its fullest.

Disability assistance dogs are welcome everywhere in the gardens on a short lead.

Visitors are welcome to walk their dogs at Wakehurst. Dogs must be on a short lead and kept to the designated dog-friendly route. Read more about bringing your dog to Wakehurst.

If you have tickets to a specific event that has been cancelled, we will be in touch with more details. 

As we are a charity, please consider donating your ticket price to help us continue our vital conservation work.

On arrival you will need to present: 

  • Your membership card, or email confirmation of membership if you have one.
  • Your ticket, if you have one (either on a phone or print out).
  • If you have booked with a voucher then please ensure you bring this with you.
  • Concessions may need to provide ID.
  • Bicycles, tricycles, roller skates, skateboards, micro-scooters, balance bikes and other vehicles (except powered wheelchairs) must be left at the gate.
