Be transported to the life and world of Jane Austen through her own words and the music she loved.
Performed by actor Nina Wadia OBE, soprano Claire Booth and pianist Andrew Matthews-Owen, and with script by Christine Croshaw, this performance melds storytelling, classical music and outdoor theatre to explore Jane Austen in a new light.
Told using surviving letters between Jane and her beloved sister Cassandra, the performance reveals a heartfelt yet vivid portrait of the woman behind the novels. Words are woven together with music from classical composers like Handel, Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert, alongside folk melodies of the period, to create a richer view into one of the most influential authors of all time.
